Where did the cleaning label come from and what does it mean?

Increasingly, international food companies are keen to promote the term 'Clean Label'.

The term "clean label" started in the EU and means minimising the presence of the E number (the EU food additive code, different from the EU E number in English, in our country the government requires the name of each food additive on the food bag to give consumers a clear idea of what it is) in the product label. The "clean label" does not mean that the food is not clean, but that it maintains the natural character of the food in the ingredients section of the label.

The meaning of a clean label

Simplicity

Ingredients: the fewer the ingredients, the better, easy to understand, no difficult to understand ingredients

Commodity production process: easy production and processing, full transparency, truthfulness.

Health

Ingredients of the product: all natural, organic chemical, no artificial additives, no preservatives, no organic chemical/pesticide residues, no allergens, non-GMO oil, etc.

Ingredients of the product: reduced fat, reduced sugar, reduced salt, cereals, dietary fibre, etc.
